Welcome to the HIV Prevention Service

The HIV Prevention Service supports a range of people from client’s, professionals to support groups in the North and Mid Hampshire.

The service consists of 5 programme areas; which all specialise in a different kind of HIV prevention or support work with vulnerable client groups.

Healthy Gay Hampshire

Healthy Gay Hampshire supports men who have sex with men with their sexual health, emotional well-being and self-esteem.

The service works with a range of agencies to provide inclusive environments for men who have sex with other men and has strong links with Hampshire Police to support the reporting of Homophobic Hate Crime.

It also provides free sexual health resources including leaflets, condoms and water-based lube.

SHEA

SHEA (Sexual Health of Ethnic and African Communities) provides culturally appropriate sexual health promotion services to black and minority ethnic (BME) groups and individuals.

You can also order condoms and other resources online.

DASH

DASH (Drugs and Sexual Health) provides information and training support to agencies that are working with individuals who have issues around substance use.

The service can provide resources and tailored training around all aspects of sexual health as well as specific training on blood borne viruses.

Education 4 Diversity (E4D)

E4D provides support for any professional who works with you people. The service focuses on issues of sexuality and homophobia and provides a range of training opportunities including inset training, sexuality workshops, materials for classroom sessions and policy support.

The service can also support young people who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans or who are exploring their sexuality.

Positively Sexy

Positively Sexy provides support for people who are HIV positive, there partners and friends. The service supports HIV positive people to have fulfilling relationships and safer sex lives.

Positively Sexy also provides free sexual health resources including leaflets, oral shields, condoms and water-based lubes.

New service for New Forest, Eastleigh & Test Valley South

The NHS merged primary care trusts across Hampshire on the 1st October 2006. As a result of this, there has been a change in the boundaries for HIV prevention provision. The HIV Prevention Service that previously provided services across mid and northern Hampshire now covers the additional areas of the New Forest, Eastleigh and Test Valley South.
